"Adopt-a-Senior" – you pick a senior (low income) to help through out the year! Like adopting a grandparent!
Who can adopt?
Individuals, groups, clubs, congregations, businesses
How?
I can email you a list. A bio on each senior will tell you a little about them. You pick one you wish to help for the year.
What can you do to help?
- By donating funds for us to purchase extra food and
needed item (at .18 cents a pound) $100 will buy 555.56
pounds of meats!
- Visits with them (are extra special)
- Buy special gifts for them at holiday times - socks,
slippers, etc.
- Include special items in their food bags, etc.
- Make them something special (good project for the kids)
- Send cards, notes of encouragement and friendship, etc.
- Get school groups or Sunday school classes to make
special cards or favors for the bags each month
- Take them a meal or take them to eat out
- Just sit and talk with them and let them tell you their
stories – have some hot chocolate together
- Purchase a food gift card
So many grandparents live a distance from family – you can provide a “grandparent” for your children and make someone's life so much better.
